Milton Kerr Adams

Mid-afternoon of Wednesday, December 11, 2013 with family and friends at his side, Milton Kerr Adams, age 87, passed away at The Oaks at Forsyth. He was born on April 28, 1926 to Charlie Milton and Lula Goodman Adams. The doctor that delivered him was named Kerr and that is how he received his middle name. He was educated in the local, WS/Forsyth County Schools. During his early years he worked in a candy factory. Later as a skilled knitter, he worked many years for the Hanes Knitting Co. plant on Stratford Road, retiring after 38 years of service. A proud Veteran of World War II serving in Europe, he was wounded in combat and honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class. A gentle and kind person, he appreciated anything people did for him. His pride and joy was a 1979 Red Ford LTD. He is predeceased by his parents, and brother Donald Nadion Adams, brother-in-law, James F. Naylor, Sr. Immediate family survivors include his sister, Mrs. Agnes Naylor, sister-in-law, Jeannette Manuca Adams, nephew, James F. Naylor, Jr., and nieces, Andrea Adams Hefner (Tony) Brenda Livengood (Bobby), Linda Arnder (James), Krystal Hardy and nephew John Robert Hardy, cousins, Cleo Hunter, Juliean Naylor, Irvin Naylor, also very dear and special friends, Judi Griffin, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd R. Stafford, Opal Ford and neighbor, Harriet Renegar. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 11-1:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A Grave Side Service with Military Honors will be conducted 12:00 pm Saturday, December 14, 2013 in the Crestview Memorial Cemetery, 6850 University Parkway, Rural Hall, NC 27045 officiated by Pastor Sid Lanier. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kingswood United Methodist Church, 6840 University Parkway, Rural Hall, NC 27045 or to the Charity of the donor's choice. The family extends special thanks to Nurse Station 2 and other staff at the Oaks at Forsyth for the excellent and loving care given Milton. Thanks, We will miss him.
