Milton Price

Milton Sim Price, 77, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2019. He was born to Sim and Mamie Price, January 21, 1942 in Decatur, Alabama. Milt graduated from the University of Alabama and became a lifelong die-hard Bama football fan. In 1965, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Upon graduation from the University, Price entered the Navy’s Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode, Island and was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Naval Reserve and received orders to the USS Guadalcanal (LPH-7). Mr. Price served as radio officer while on board and after two years was transferred to the operational test and evaluation force as the Commands Communications officer. Price retired with the rank of Captain in 2006. Mr. Price had a long career with Wachovia Bank. After his career with Wachovia, he enjoyed working at Belk menswear where he had many satisfied customers. Milt zealously volunteered with Crisis Control Ministry and delighted in his service to the Lions Club for many years. Milton and his wife were devoted members and loved their church, Episcopal Church of the Ascension. Surviving are his wife, Zeta Price; one daughter, Allyson McNiff (Jim); one son, Les Price; stepdaughter, Nicole Lynch (Jerry) and five grandchildren. A very special heartfelt thank you to Milt’s devoted caregivers at Almost Home Group. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to Winston-Salem Host Lions Club or Crisis Control. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 183 Fork Bixby Rd., Advance, NC 27006.
