Miriam J. Voigt

Miriam J. Voigt, 94, of Bermuda Run, NC, died on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Trinity Elms, Clemmons, NC. Miriam was born on October 1, 1922 in Swedesburg, IA to Rev. M. Arthur and Esther Johnson. She married William L. Voigt on April 16, 1944 in Fort Worth, TX. She was a lifelong Lutheran and longtime active member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, most recently a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winston-Salem. A devoted wife and mother, she will be best remembered for creating a warm and loving home, her strong faith, her love of animals and her quick and witty sense of humor. Left to treasure her memory are three children and their spouses: W. Ken Voigt (Fabi) of Galena, IL, Barbara E. Voigt (Dick Palleschi) of Lynn, MA and Marc G. Voigt (Debbie) of Pfafftown, NC. She leaves four grandchildren and their spouses: William E. Voigt (Paula), James D. Voigt (Lisa), Marcia V. Hefner (Morgan) and R. Kyle Voigt (Leigh Anna); eight great grandchildren, three nieces and their families and her precious canine companion, Linus. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, in 2003 and her sister, Jane Johnson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Mark Ryman officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 prior to the service. A private inurnment will follow.
