Mozelle Hendrix

Mozelle K. Hendrix, age 99, passed away April 30, 2018 in Hermitage TN. Mozelle was born in Forsyth County to Fred Lee and Maggie Speas Kreeger. Mozelle was married for 60 years to John Elgin Hendrix. She was the last surviving member of her graduating class at Old Richmond High School. She worked for Eastern Airlines and Piedmont Airlines prior to the birth of her children. She loved music and served as organist for Hermitage United Methodist Church and Hermitage Presbyterian Church in middle Tennessee. An award-winning quilter, she was also an avid bridge player. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she had a deep love for family and friends. Survived by daughter Ann (Bernie) Holladay; son David (Joni) Hendrix; grandson Zach Hendrix; sisters-in-law Ruth Kreeger and Artie Hendrix; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Bernice Moore and Juanita Usher, brother Fred L. "Buzzy" Kreeger, Jr., and grandson Alex Hendrix. Visitation at 10:00 am Sat. June 2, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 am at the Jefferson Christian Church Worship Center (entry in back), 8200 Jefferson Church Rd., Rural Hall, with burial to follow in the church cemetery, Steve Cook officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alex Hendrix Memorial Scholarship Fund, Regions Bank, 4444 Lebanon Pike, Hermitage TN 37076; the Nashville Rescue Mission, 639 Lafayette St., Nashville TN 37203; or the charity of your choice.
