Mrs. Mozelle Earlene Cooke Naylor, 87, passed peacefully surrounded by family on August 6, 2017, when God put his final stroke on the divine painting of her life. Earlene was born September 10, 1929, in Forsyth County to Everette Lee and Annie Carter Cooke. She was a devoted Christian who enjoyed daily devotion and reading her Bible. She loved spending time with her family and had a special relationship with her granddaughter, Michelle, with whom she was very close. Music was an important part of her life. She was a talented musician and singer, with a beautiful alto voice. She loved country and gospel music. Earlene was a kind and gentle soul who always put others first. In past years, she loved preparing Sunday meals where her family would gather for fellowship. Her family will find solace in the loving memories they have shared over the years. Earlene was deeply loved and will be missed by the many lives she touched. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, George T. Naylor, Sr.; one son, George T. ""Butch"" Naylor, Jr.; four brothers; and two sisters. Surviving are one son, Adrian L. Naylor (fiancée Mary Scott Soo); two daughters, Beverly E. Naylor and Carol N. Slate (husband Horace); one sister, Elise Hepler (husband Fred); three grandchildren, Michelle Idol, David Naylor, and Marnie Naylor; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln. Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
