Mrs. Bertie Jo Thomas Keaton

Mrs. Bertie Jo Thomas Keaton, 72, of Lexington, NC followed a dream she had of walking through a field of flowers with her parents in heaven on January 6 at 6:22 pm. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Clinton Thomas and Annie Violet Wood Thomas, three brothers, Harry Webster Thomas (Nancy), John Keith Thomas and Richard Thomas. Surviving is her husband of 50 years, John Keaton of the home, daughter and son in law, Susan and Jeff Fountain, of Tobaccoville, four grand kids, Christopher (Kristi), Jeffrey (Jessica), Zack, Nikki and great-granddaughter, Kylee. Also surviving are her siblings; Ann Lou Poteat, Nancy Thomas-Essex (Larry), Frank (Carol) Thomas, Bruce (Donna) Thomas, Becky (Earl) Poteat, brother and sister in laws; Carroll (Sue) Keaton and Ida (Don) Looper and numerous nieces and nephews The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, January 9 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel officiated by Rev. Mike Gates and Rev. Norwood Green.
