Edith Elizabeth Atwood, 91, of Yadkinville, NC, a loving mother, grandmother and sister passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013. Edith was born March 13, 1922 in Forsyth County to the late Joe Franklin and Emma Barlow Everhart. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Yadkin County. Edith was an inspiration to anyone who met her, bringing a smile wherever she went and loved unconditionally. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Derol Atwood and a sister, Jackie Mayes. Surviving to cherish her memory are four Children; Derolene Bentley (Joe), Mike Atwood (Sharon), Jerol Atwood (Anna), Barbara Adams, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters; Dot Crouse, Faye Walser and many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted following in the Chapel at 1:00 pm officiated by Rev. Kenny Gooden. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
