Mrs. Mildred Faye Creed Ward Orrell

Mrs. Mildred Faye Creed Ward Orrell died on Sunday, December 22, 2013. Mrs. Orrell was born in Moore County, N.C., on March 30, 1935, the daughter of Raymond W. and Alene Mays Creed. Prior to moving to Lewisville, N.C., and later to Clemmons, N.C., Mrs. Orrell lived for many years in Flint, Michigan, where she was employed by General Motors Corporation. Since 1976, she lived in Clemmons and had been an active, long-time member of Lewisville United Methodist Church which she deeply loved. Mildred was very generous to members of her family and to her friends. Preceding Mrs. Orrell in death was her first husband, Hollis L. Ward. Survivors include her husband, Herman B. Orrell; stepdaughter, Candy Batchelor of Charlotte, N.C.; stepson, Mike S. Orrell of Harmony, N.C.; grandchildren, Caroline McLean and Will Batchelor. Surviving brothers and sisters are Wayne Creed of Swartz Creek, Michigan; Will Creed of Cornelius, N.C.; Ann Church of Clemmons, N.C.; Glenda Creed of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Sherry Kinnaman of Winston-Salem, N.C. A memorial service will be held at Lewisville United Methodist Church at 11:00 on Friday, December 27, with Pastor Keith Bingham officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the General Fund, Lewisville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 305, 6290 Shallowford Road, Lewisville, N.C. 27023 or the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1205, 836 Oak Street, Suite 310, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27102-1205.
