Murvin was a man known for his loving spirit, quick comeback, and sharing his life stories. At 95 years of age, he had outlived his siblings, Opal Hendrix, C.R. Moser, Dorothy Long, Leo Moser, and Kenneth Moser. They grew up as a farming family in Stokes County, raised by parents, Claude and Verlie Burrow Moser. The course of their lives was altered by WWII, with all four boys, leaving the farm to serve in the war, and surviving to return home where they worked to start families and rebuild their country. Murvin was in the Army from 1942-1946, serving as an MP at bases across the Midwest, and then as a hospital cook at Camp Lucky Strike in France. He married Dorothy Jones in 1947, and had one daughter, Sue Yvonne. They were married until her death in 1987----40 years of a happy life together. They were members at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, where they had many lifelong friendships. His work life was spent as a machinist at R.J. Reynolds, where he retired after 34 years. He enjoyed gardening, horses, fixing lawn mowers, woodworking, church activities, and spending time with family. In 1988 he married Helen Brown Eaton. They were married until her death in 2015. He is survived by one daughter, Sue (Gary) Boggs and their children, Clint (Amber) Boggs and Tracy (Matt) Seats and great-grandchildren, Mason and Lillian. When he and Helen married, he gained a much-loved second family: Kenneth (Courtney) Eaton, Darlene (Johnny) Peoples, Sharon (Dale) Livengood, and Billy Eaton. He and Helen have nine grandchildren, Hunter, Iona Pearl, David, Angela, Shane, Audrey, Amber, John Curtis, and Matthew. There are 18 great-grands and counting. Murvin leaves a legacy of love and laughter to everyone who has been blessed to know him. The family appreciates the wonderful care given in the last few months at Brookdale Assisted Living and during his final days at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday September 22, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Greg Freeman officiating. A graveside service will be held following the service at Pinegrove United Methodist Church. The family will visit with friends and family following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are requested to be sent to the Children's Home of Winston-Salem, 1001 Reynolda Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27104 for he always believed in the difference they make in children's lives or to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The peace and comfort they provide is beyond measure.
