Nadine Nelson Whicker

Kernersville – Mrs. Nadine Nelson Whicker, 91, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024. Her strength in the last few weeks was amazing during her decline. She was comforted by God’s hand. Nadine was born on October 11, 1932, in Stokes County to Rufus and Ethie Nelson. She grew up on a farm with a loving family. She worked many years at Hanes Knitting where she met her husband, Robert. They were married July 25, 1952. Nadine was a longtime member of Hiatt United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert, in 2005. 

Nadine is survived by her only daughter, Bonnie and husband Jeff Groce; two grandchildren, Brad (Lindsey) Siler and Eric Siler; and a great-granddaughter, Addison. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
