Nancy Adams

Mrs. Nancy George Adams, 84, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 18, 2017. She was born in Stokes County on March 14, 1933 to the late James Manuel George and Annie Martin George. Mrs. Adams was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. She retired from Hanes Hosiery with 30+ years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Guy" Adams and five siblings. She is survived by her two sons, Randy Adams (Cindy) and Tony Adams (Marcia); four grandchildren: Christina Purgason (David), Misty Meadows (Mike), Molly Newman (Chad), and Kelli Mickey (Lee); seven great-grandchildren; and three siblings. To honor Nancy's wishes, a graveside service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20, at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, 851 Ziglar Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
