Mrs. Nancy Ellen Styers Ayers, 89, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025. She was born May 23, 1935, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Arnold Buxton Styers, Sr. and Lillian Louise Pegram Styers. Nancy was a loving wife of 65 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She retired from Hanes knitting after 15 years. After retirement, she went on to work at a family owned Styers Meat Market in Ogburn Station until it was sold in 1974. Nancy attended Liberty Baptist Church when her health permitted.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her three brothers; Arnold Styers, Jr., Charlie Styers, and Bill Styers; her husband, Garnet Ayers; and grandson, Matthiew Fletcher. Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Sandy Mock (Jerry Capps), Pam Gortman (Wyatt), Nannette Fletcher (Michael); four grandchildren, Stephanie Goddard (Scott), Josh Martin, Travis Gortman, and Nicholas Fletcher (Alycia); 5 great-grandchildren, Travis Goddard, Jacob Goddard, Kacyn Fletcher, Axel Fletcher, and Riley Fletcher; two sisters, Martha McKenize (Stafford) and Wanda Johnson (Danny dec.) and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Styers officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
