Nancy Hunter Banner

Mrs. Nancy Hunter Banner, 94, of Germanton, wife of the late Lawrence E. Banner, died Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Banner was born July 25,1931 in Forsyth County to Elbert O. and Esther Speer Hunter. She was educated in the local schools and attended Mars Hill College. After college, she married Lawrence Banner and they remained together until his death in 2015. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother to her sons. She was a longtime member of Germanton Baptist Church and attended as long as her health permitted. She is survived by her sons, David M. Banner (Jane) and Timothy Banner (Leslie Reeves) of Germanton; a daughter-in-law, Cheri Wilson Banner, of Tobaccoville; two grandsons, Ross and Gray Banner; a great-granddaughter, Camdyn Reese Wilson; and a younger sister, Rebecca Hunter, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mrs. Banner was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christin Banner. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 8, 2026 in Germanton Baptist Church cemetery by Dr. Philip Crouse, Jr.. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Germanton Baptist Church, 6810 Germanton Road, Germanton, NC 27019. Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel is assisting the Banner family..
