Nancy Bean

Mrs. Nancy Delores Shelton Bean, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Accordius Health of Clemmons. She was born on November 23, 1935 in Forsyth County to Harvey Roy and Levie Sarah Jane Smith Shelton. Nancy delighted in being a homemaker and loved to bake and decorate cakes. She also enjoyed working at WSJS Radio, the Journal and Sentinel; and the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts in Old Salem.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Leonard Bean and her sister, Barbara Lois Shelton Butner. She is survived by two daughters, Crystal Evans (Stephen Hartman) and Jennifer Bower (Larry); three grandchildren, Tiffany Evans, Brittany Kuhl (Allen), and Harley Hartman; two great grandchildren, Gabriel Kuhl and Atiana Kuhl; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside funeral service for Nancy will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church in Kernersville with Elder E.W. Hooven officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Saints Delight Cemetery Fund care of Terry Motsinger, 270 Motsinger Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
