Nancy Sue Outlaw Belchee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 21, 2016. She was born in Kinston, NC on November 23, 1948. She graduated from Grainger High School in Kinston in 1966, Wake Forest University in 1970, and obtained her Masters Degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1983. She taught High School and then served as the Children's Librarian in several Winston Salem public libraries until retiring in 2005. Nancy loved all of God's creations, and saw His majesty in all of life around her. She shared her greatest loves of music and life long learning with all of the children throughout her career at the Children's library. She will be remembered for her kindness towards others with her gentle spirit, generosity, and singing voice worshipping the Lord. She was preceded in death by her, mother, Doris Croom Outlaw; her father, Alvin Outlaw and her sister Ramona Outlaw Adams. Surviving are her son, Blake Belchee and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, William and Alexandra of Charlotte, NC; former husband, Bill Belchee and wife Geraldine of Rock Hill, SC; a brother, Douglas Outlaw and wife Harriette of Littleton, NC; a niece, Karen Sue Adams and husband Jeff of Kannapolis, NC and a nephew, Tim Adams and his wife Sally of Dallas, TX. Her family wishes to extend their thanks to Nancy's long-time friend and neighbor, Betty Anderson, who stood by Nancy throughout out her illness, to the staff of Homestead Hills in Winston Salem, and her doctors: Dr. Ted Toberg, Dr. Edward Hill, Dr. Jeff Marshall, Dr. Lindsay Yancey, & Dr. David Bollinger. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Nancy's name to the Alzheimer's Association. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
