Mrs. Nancy Anne Johnson Parsons, 76, of Winston-Salem passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at her home, after a well-fought battle with cancer. She was born on January 22, 1941 in Forsyth County to Ernest L. and Mabel Bowers Johnson. She was a member of Triad Baptist Church in Kernersville. Mrs. Parsons retired from Union Grove Christian School as a devoted school teacher. She was committed to her family and loved her grandchildren. She was generous and hospitable and was a fantastic cook. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Gail Burke. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Dan Parsons; two daughters, Melody Dyson and husband Jesse, and Heather Parsons; one son, Daniel Parsons and wife Amanda; four grandchildren, Taylor and Lincoln Dyson, Tori Parsons, and Deacon Parsons; one sister, Carol Graham and husband David; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Triad Baptist Church in Kernersville with Dr. Rob Decker and Rev. David Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission, 718 N. Trade St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
