Nancy Smith

Mrs. Nancy Lou Flynt Smith, 88, passed away May 24, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 13, 1930 in Stokes County to the late Iris Wall Flynt and Isaac Jones Flynt. Nancy graduated from N.C. Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She had a 40 year nursing career. She was a member of Beck's Baptist Church. In addition she enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with family. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Billy Gene Smith. She is survived by two sons, Randy Smith (Beth) of Lyons, Colorado, Jerry Smith (Sloane) of Lewisville, NC; one daughter, Jeannie Lane (Tim) of Nashville, NC: nine grandchildren, Stephen Smith, Carter (Mandy) Stepanovsky, Rebecca DeCesari (Ryan), Jeremy (Kimberly), Morgan (Courtney), Lauren Smith, Samuel, Sarah, and Matthew Lane: four great-grandchildren, Tobin and Wilder Stepanovsky, Mason and Harrison Smith; one sister, Martine Flynt Strickland; sister-in-law, Everette Mae Marshall; brother-in-law, Danny Smith. A funeral service will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Beck's Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 25, 2018 from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC, 27103 or Comprehensive Cancer Center, Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, P.O.
