Nancy Matz Spivey

Ms. Nancy Lynn Matz Spivey, 77, of Clemmons, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2024, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born an only child to the late Leo George Matz and Bernice Wright Matz on April 16, 1946, in Medina, Ohio. Nancy was uncomplicated, yet she had a huge heart of gold. She loved her family and her pets, Bandit and Brodie. Ms. Spivey spent many years as the executive for Braille Bible International, a company that worked endlessly to provide the blind with Bibles. She is survived by her partner of 32 years, Patrick; two daughters, Denise (Roy), and Dawn; one son, Jay; and three grandchildren, Hailey, Nicole, and Riley. In addition to her parents, Ms. Spivey was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Spivey and an aunt, Sue Walker. There will be no formal service at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to ASPCA, PO. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the Spivey family.
