Mrs. Nancy Elaine Thomas-Essex, 78, of Clemmons, NC, went home to be with Jesus on September 17, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born on December 30, 1945, to the late Harry Clinton Thomas and Anna Violet Wood Thomas in Forsyth County, NC.
Nancy had a life that was anything but quiet. She was a member of Faith Church and retired from BB&T as a loan officer. Her passion was her family.
We praise God for his promise of eternal life, and we thank God for her. Nancy was such a beautiful lady who was always giving, loving, and considerate of others.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers, Webb Thomas, Keith Thomas, and Richard Thomas; sisters, Anna Lou Poteat, Rebecca Poteat, and Birdie Joe Keaton; and granddaughter, Savannah Ashley Hoffman.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Larry Essex; daughters, Lisa (Shane) Bailey, Deb (Jeff) Hoffman, Melissa Holloway, and Laiken Essex; brothers, Frankie (Carol) Thomas and Bruce (Donna) Thomas; grandchildren, Austin (Hannah) Hoffman, Lauren Holloway, Megan Bailey, Dillon (Krystal) Bailey, Kaitlyn Holloway, Krissy (Luke) Angell, Dalton Osborne, and Jaidyn Shepherd; great-grandchildren, Oakley Angell, Colton Angell, Xander Childress, and Ellie Triplett; and many other special nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Faith Church with Pastor Mike Gates officiating. The family will receive friends the night prior, Friday, September 20, 2024, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
