Nancy Barbee Whittington

Mrs. Nancy Carol Barbee Whittington, 78, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth Co. on October 26, 1945, the daughter of the late James Edward Barbee and Ruth Caroline Boyer Barbee. Mrs. Whittington retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 34 years of service. She was a hard-working lady who loved to be outside and loved mowing her yard. Mrs. Whittington loved all animals but especially her fur baby “Ruby”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Whittington, and her brothers, Larry, John, Eddie and Gary Barbee. She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Lee (Jerry) and Cheryl Asbury (Darrell); three grandchildren, Trey Asbury, Presleigh Asbury and Roy Asbury; her sister, Kathy Motsinger (Steve); a sister-in-law, Vivian Barbee; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Mark Leone officiating. Burial will follow in Stoney Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Purlear, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
