Mrs. Nannie Mae Dunn Forrest, 89 of Advance went home to Heaven Sunday March 9, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 2, 1924 in Davie County and was the daughter of the late Samuel Thomas Dunn, Sr. and Mary Augusta Foster Dunn. Nannie Mae was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband William Dobson Forrest Jr., her son, Gary William Forrest, three brothers, Loy Thomas Dunn, ST Dunn Jr., and Reno Dunn all of Advance and her sister Mary Martin of Winston Salem.
Mrs. Forrest is survived by her daughter Joan Brown of the home, Kathy Coble (Bob) of Advance, and Debbie Forrest, a sister, Helen Jarvis of Mocksville and a special niece Karen Mayes of Advance, three grandsons, Steven Brown from Statesville, Chad Allen from Lewisville and Matthew Allen from Mocksville, one granddaughter, Shannon Grimes from Advance, eight great greatchildren and three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Forrest was of the Baptist Faith and attended church at Fellowship Baptist Church in Advance. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church by Pastor Wayne Swisher. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
