Nathan Richard Weavil

Nathan Richard Weavil, 77, of Kernervsille, NC went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born to the late Richard Hayworth Weavil and Elizabeth Davis Weavil on November 16, 1948, in Forsyth County.

Nathan earned his master’s degree at East Carolina University where he was a proud pirate. He went on to work as a banker for over 40 years of his career.

Nathan served in the United States Air Force for three years, during this time he received many promotions in his position. In his free time, Nathan enjoyed playing a good game of golf.

He married the love of his life, Jo Ann in 1971. Nathan continued to speak about Jo Ann and the love they shared until his very last day on this earth. Everyone can find comfort knowing he is with once again reunited with his soulmate.

In addition to his parents, Nathan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jo Ann Harris Weavil; and niece, Michelle Brady.

He is survived by his loving sister, Susan Lester (Michael); and nephew, Jonathan Lester.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Elder E. W. Hooven and Elder Elijah Rice. Burial will follow the service at Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
