Ned Banner

Mr. Ned Banner, 94, entered his heavenly home Saturday, January 05, 2019.  He was born December 5, 1924 in Forsyth County to the late Clarence and Pearl Banner.  Mr. Banner proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps in the Asian Theater during WWII.  He later retired from Frank L. Blum.  Mr. Banner enjoyed tending his garden, fruit trees, and grapevines.  He will be greatly missed.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Banner was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Mable Ann Martin Banner.  He is survived by two sons, Barry Banner (Beverly) and Keith Banner (Sandra); two grandchildren, Amanda Hoots (JD) and Kayla Berry (Nick); and three great-grandchildren: Lilly, Will, and Carter.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Germanton Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Lattimore officiating.  Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park with military rites provided by American Legion Post 290 of King.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Germanton Park.
