Nellie Simpson

Ms. Nellie Louise Simpson, 90, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Guilford County on June 7, 1927 to the late Lindsey and Gertrude Rickmond Simpson. Ms. Simpson was veteran of the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 where she was stationed at Ft. Belvoir, VA. She retired from Burlington Industries with 35 years of service. Ms. Simpson was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Surviving is a daughter, Jean Sampias Tripp; two granddaughters, Lauren Tripp and Rachel Flippin (Adam); great-granddaughter, Audrey Flippin; sister, Laura MacDaniel (Howard); four brothers, Clyde R. Simpson, Jack Simpson, Lindsey Simpson, and W.B. Simpson (Rochelle); also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 20, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Rev. John Jackman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service. A graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Monday at Green Hill Cemetery in Greensboro.
