Nelson Ferreira

KERNERSVILLE – Mr. Nelson Ferreira, 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 10, 1927, in Bristol County, MA to Manuel and Lucy Sequeira Ferreira. Nelson was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a Gunner’s Mate on the USS Kennedy. He retired from General Electric with 36 years of faithful service. Nelson enjoyed watching Yankees baseball and old western movies. He also enjoyed working on old cars. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him

In addition to his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Ferreira; one brother, Armando Ferreira; and one sister, Hilda Whalen.

He is survived by two sons, Nelson Ferreira (Karen), and Richard Ferreira; two daughters, Linda Amazon (Alan), and Kathleen Mazur (Paul); 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild with another on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews

No formal services have been scheduled at this time.
