Mrs. Nettie Nichols Farrell, 95, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born April 19, 1917 in Forsyth County to Lillie Dalton Cook and William Wade Cook. Mrs. Farrell was a member of Hanes Baptist Church and a member of The Ladies Auxillary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She enjoyed playing pool and was a Past Pool Shooting Champion. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Amos G. Nichols, Frank Shackleford and Joseph Farrell; three brothers, Clarence, Tom and James Cook and a sister, Ellie Gobble. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Fisher of Winston-Salem and Kay McAllister of King; two granddaughters, Karen Stout (Chris) of Arcadia and Shannon Lankford (Kendall) of Charlotte; two grandsons, Jon Shumate (Adrienne) of Winston-Salem and Glenn Renegar, Jr. of New York City, NY; ten great grandchildren; one stepson, Joseph Farrell, Jr. (Gloria) of Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.
