Noah Nathan Hendrix, Jr.

Noah Nathan Hendrix, Jr., 79, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 9, 1944, to the late Noah Nathan Hendrix Sr. and Flossy Louise Canter Hendrix in Forsyth County.

He was a sweet soul, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could. In his free time, Noah loved spending time with family and his sweet dog, Ninja. He enjoyed working outdoors, yardwork and making sure his neighborhood was well taken care of. Especially when there was a neighbors’ driveway that needed to be plowed with his tractor while snow was on the ground. Noah will forever be remembered as the best dad and pawpaw by everyone who loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Janice Sue Hendrix; four sisters, Mary Doby, Vickie Blackwelder, Linda Hendrix, and Brenda Hendrix.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Susan Matchett (Murray); grandson, Austin Matchett (Amanda); granddaughter, Chandler Matchett; great-granddaughters, McKinley Matchett, and Madison Matchett; sisters, Shirley Brooks, and Louise Spillman; brothers, George Hendrix (Marie), and Gene Hendrix; and aunt, Rebecca “Tootsie” Holtmeyer.

Noah will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Parklawn Memorial Park. No formal services will be held at this time.
