Nona Imogene James

High Point – Nona Imogene James, 82, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Hospice Home of High Point. She was born on February 18, 1943, in Forsyth County, NC to the late Earnest and Beulah Vanhoy James. Nona was a resident of Brookdale Assisted Living for 12 years and was loved by the staff there. She had a very unique and contagious laugh, along with her joyous spirit. Nona never met a stranger, showing her love and care for others before herself. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend, who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Richard and Roger “Pete” James.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Edward James (Peggy); her sister-in-law, Mary “Aileen” James; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 12, 2025, at Gardens of Memory – Walkertown, with Brent Madison officiating. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
