Nora Aleece Heery Hensley

Mrs. Nora Aleece Heery Hensley, 91, of Clemmons, NC, passed away June 6, 2024, at her home in Clemmons.  She was born May 4, 1933, in Elijay, Georgia, to the late Dan and Ruby Pence Heery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Hensley; and a sister, Margret Beavers. 

Nora graduated from Copperhill High School in Copperhill, Tennessee.  She studied the history and sociology of the Plains Indians at the University of North Dakota.  She was a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Society.  Nora was a past employee of Southern Bell in Knoxville, Tennessee and a past resident of Brevard and Burlington, North Carolina and Langdon, North Dakota

She is survived by two sons, Robert, Jr. and wife Kathy of Salisbury, NC, and Michael of Clemmons, NC; and one grandson, Brian Hensley of Salisbury, NC.

The Celebration of Nora Hensley’s life will be held in the sanctuary of Clemmons United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. John Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends in the church commons area following the service.   Memorials may be directed to the Clemmons United Methodist Church Building Program.
