Norma Ruth Bennett Ward-Swain

Norma ""Ruth"" Bennett Ward-Swain, 78, passed away to her Heavenly home Tuesday, March 18, 2014. She was born August 6, 1935 in Stokes County to Arthur Reid Bennett and Mary Harrison Bennett. Ruth retired from Merita Bakery with 25 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Alan Ward and her first husband, Grover Kenneth Ward. Left behind to cherish her memories are her daughter, Shelia (Roger) Davis of Advance; 3 sons, Duane (Dee) Ward of Walnut Cove, Joseph (Dana) Ward of Lewisville, and Jeffrey Ward of Winston-Salem; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and unborn ""Jase"" due any day; brothers, Jimmy Bennett of Winston-Salem, Tommy (Barbara) Bennett of King; and a special aunt, Barbara Sue Sutphin of Walkertown. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and countless other loved ones. She was known as a pillar of strength that we could always depend on and be there for when needed. She impacted many lives and leaves a legacy of love and joy to share with others. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Jim Lytle officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
