Norman Bryan Austin

Kernersville - Mr. Norman Bryan Austin, age 78, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. Norman was born February 20, 1935 in Durham Co. to Raymond Curtis and Annie Gates Austin. He loved his family and was an avid sports enthusiast. He was preceded in death by one sister, JoAnn Wilson. Surviving are; his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Ann Cheek Austin, four children; Reggie Austin ( Robin), Tommy Austin (Anne), David Austin (Dawn) and Karen Gray (Kermit), seven grandchildren, Beth Hodges, Shannon Grubbs (Justin), Joshua Austin (Ashley), Whitney Idol (Alan), Andrew Gray (Anna), Seth Austin, and Lonnie Austin, six great grandchildren, and three brothers, Curtis, John and Frank Austin. A Memorial Service will be conducted 5:00 PM at Hillcrest Baptist Church Thursday, October 24, 2013 with Rev. Jason Murray officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Austin Family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the NC Alzheimer's Foundation at 1350 Navaho Drive Raleigh, NC 27609, or to Kerner Ridge Assisted Living Activities Department at 250 Hopkins Rd. Kernersville, NC 27284.
