Norman P. Hansley

Norman P. Hansley, 87, passed away on December 23, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on October 6, 1936, to Florence Ottaway Hansley and Joseph Daniel Hansley in Sneads Ferry. Norman was a proud veteran of the US Army and Army Reserves, having served for 33 years. He was also a member of the American Legion.  He loved spending time at the coast, surf fishing, and pier fishing. He also enjoyed spending time at his cabin, growing vegetables and selling produce from the garden. Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carter Hansley, and a great grandchild, Max Fitzgerald Grant. Surviving are his children, Deborah Johnson (Bobby), Norman E. Hansley, and Tina Hansley; grandchildren, Kandis Grant (Jamie), Ronnie Tullock (Holly), Chasity Baughman (Steven), and Zachary Hayes; great grandchildren, Brandi, Andrew, Nicholas, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Breanna, Carleigh, Carter, and Madison.; one great, great grandchild who is “on-the-way”; also, a brother, Marvin Hansley (Mary.) A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
