MABE - RURAL HALL
Mr. Norman Green ""Sonny"" Mabe Jr. passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born March 13, 1955 in Forsyth County to Barbara Jean Hill and the late Norman Green Mabe Sr. Mr. Mabe was a member of Union Tabernacle. He was an avid Bruce Lee fan and had a black belt in karate. He was also a jack of all trades.
In addition to his father, Mr. Mabe was preceded in death by a brother, Jonathan David Mabe. Surviving are his loving wife, Betty Burgess Mabe; two daughters: Megan Mabe-Stanberry (Randy) and Sunnie Mabe; brother, John G. Mabe (Debra); sister, Jeanne Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15 at Union Tabernacle with Pastor Herb Mabe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, March 12 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
