Mr. Olin Alvis White, 85, of Walnut Cove, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 11, 2026 at his home. Mr. White was beloved by all and will be missed dearly. After many years of faithful service, Mr. White retired from Smurfit Stone (formerly Container Corporation of America, then Jefferson Smurfit) and was proud to have served as President of Teamsters Local # 1870 during that time. During his free time, and after retirement, he enjoyed the chance to occasionally relax and go fishing. Mr. White was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Ledford White in 1999. Later, he was blessed to marry Carolyn Mabe White, who survives, of the home. He is also survived by a daughter, Debra Lynn White; a granddaughter, Jamie Rose Cornett; a great granddaughter, Seanna A. Brown; and a step-son, Bruce Slate and Bruce's children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, June 15, 2026 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 Tuesday at Baux Mountain Baptist Church.
