Mr. Oliver “Frank” Franklin Sisk, 100, of Winston-Salem, NC, entered the more immediate presence of his Savior on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
Born on January 11, 1925, in Stokes County to the late Mr. Oliver Wylis Sisk and Mrs. Nora Hicks Sisk. Frank’s life was long and well-lived, centered around the things that mattered most to him, his faith, his family, and his service.
A dedicated member of Trinity Moravian Church since 1950, Frank faithfully served on the Board of Trustees and found great joy in the fellowship and community he made there. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II, answering the call to defend his country with courage and honor.
Following his service, Frank embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a mechanical instructor at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, where he worked for 36 ½ years. Known for his steady guidance, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone who sought his knowledge, he left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him.
Frank shared 74 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Peggy Waggoner Sisk, together they built a life enriched in love and happiness. In his earlier years, Frank enjoyed playing nearly every sport and had a great love for riding motorcycles.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in passing by his devoted wife, Peggy; his five sisters, Naomi Newsom, Ruth Warwick, Rumell Stevens, Rhodena Cromer, and June Moore; and two nephews, Nick and Gary (Melanie).
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Mike Sisk and Lisa Novak (Jeff); two nieces, Mitzi and Terri; and two nephews, Greg (Brenda) and Victor (Cindy). Those who knew him will remember his kindness, his strength, and the love he freely gave.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Moravian Church with Rev. John Jackman officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Trellis Supportive Care, the staff and the volunteers at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their loving care that was shown to Frank and his family during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Moravian Church, 220 E. Sprague Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the Sisk family during this time.
