Ona Atkins

Mrs. Ona Marion Atkins, 93, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Rose Tara Senior Living in King. She was born in Surry Co. on June 10, 1925 the daughter of the late Paul Alexander Marion and Mary Lou Forrest Marion. Mrs. Atkins was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Shoals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Marshall Atkins, Sr.; a son, William Paul Atkins; one brother; and eight sisters. Mrs. Atkins is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Simmons of Mt. Airy, Glenda Yankush (Ted) of Westfield and Vickie Davis (Ray) of Advance; one son, Marshall Atkins, Jr. of Pilot Mountain; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Tucker (Calvin) of Pinnacle. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Fairview United Methodist Church with Rev. Duncan Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service at the church.
