Opal Frances Hawks Calhoun

Mrs. Opal Frances Hawks Calhoun 83, of Winston-Salem, passed away at Friday, October 14, 2016 at her home. She was born in Virginia on April 19, 1933 to Masten and Laura Hawks. She was a member of of Linville Forest Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Calhoun, by four sisters Edith Pitts, Dorothy Fansler, Ruby Davis, and Betty Cleary. Surviving are her children, Charles Mike Calhoun and Donna Thompson, two grandchildren, Jeff Thompson and Matt Thompson. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Walkertown with Rev. John Bishop officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans Administration, 251 N Main St, Winston Salem, NC 27101.
