Ortencia Macheras

Mrs. Ortencia Villarreal Macheras, 87, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018. She was born in Dewey, Oklahoma to the late Tomas and Josefa R. Villarreal and was a beautiful and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed working outside in her gardens. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Gus Macheras and five sisters, Amanda Hurtado, Aurora Barajas, Tomasita Samaripa, Lucy Marshall, and Clara Bramlett; as well as her 2 brothers, Gilbert and Paul Villarreal. She is survived by her son, Perry James Macheras and daughter, Cindy Ann Macheras, both from Winston Salem, N.C., her dear friend, Martha Dentiste, of Winston Salem, N.C., three sisters, Mary Brown, Rachel Antle and Armida Villarreal, three brothers Armand, Oscar and Ray Villarreal and numerous nieces and nephews. A special remembrance also goes to her neighbors, Frank, Peggy. Mike, Sandy and Jim. Visitation and Trisagion Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5th at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Father Demetri Kangelaris and Father Costa Shepherd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Dr. Winston Salem, N.C. 27104.
