Otis Grant Smith

Yadkinville Otis Grant Smith went to be with his Lord on March 10, 2014. He was born November 8, 1951 to the late Stella Jones Smith and Duel Tuberose Smith. After graduating from West Forsyth High School, he attended the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. During his early years in school he loved to play sports and was a fierce competitor. He was a loyal and loud Carolina fan who never missed a game. He never met a stranger and everyone that he did meet never forgot him. Otis was truly loved by all because he treated people the way he wanted to be treated…with dignity and respect. As a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, he made a statement of faith at an early age. He worked for LeBleu Corporation and owned Smith and Smith Masonry. In addition to his late parents, his brother, Robert Gray Smith, preceded him in death. Those who will carry him in their hearts are: wife, Janice Smith; children, Jeffery (Racheal Allen), Eric, and Amanda; grandchildren, Wiley, Adrianna, and Lucia; three sisters, Martha Koontz (Jerry), Barbara Mumford (Ervin), and Linda Bowman; three brothers, D.T. Smith, Jerry Smith, and Richard Smith (Elizabeth); a host of nephews and nieces and several special friends. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Roberson and Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
