Ozell Scott Dellinger

Mrs. Ozell Scott Dellinger, 89, of Lexington, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born July 24, 1927 in Yadkin County to Flora Blakeley Scott and O.C. Scott. Mrs. Dellinger retired from Hanes Hosiery after 47 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Prospect United Methodist Church but was currently attending Center United Methodist Church in Welcome. Mrs. Dellinger was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, B.A. Dellinger, Jr. and a brother, Dewey Scott. Surviving are three sons, Dennis Dellinger and wife Judy of Lexington, Gary Dellinger and wife Jeanna of Lexington and Scott Dellinger and wife Doris of Midway; one sister, Juanita Tucker and husband L.C. of East Bend; one sister-in-law, Bobbie Scott of Wilmington; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Prospect United Methodist Church in East Bend with Rev. Robin Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prospect United Methodist Church, 3541 Smithtown Rd., East Bend, NC 27018 or to Center United Methodist Church, 186 Center Church Rd., Lexington, NC 27295. The family would like to thank the staff at Mallard Ridge for their devoted care for Mrs. Dellinger.
