Pamela Hope Hege Metz

Pamela Hope Hege Metz, 78, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.

Pam was born on February 9, 1947, in Forsyth County, North Carolina, to Willis Edward and Hope Gwendolyn Hege. She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1965 and then went to business school. She worked at Forsyth Memorial Hospital for many years as a medical transcriptionist. She went on to work for several private practices in Winston-Salem, NC.

Pam loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Her favorite place to relax was the beach. She enjoyed reading Stephen King novels and watching game shows and soap operas, which she called her “stories.” She was rarely seen without a cold Diet Coke in hand.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jerry H. Metz Jr.; sons, Jerry H. Metz III (Christina) and Jason M. Metz (Emily Gardner); grandchildren, CheyAnn Metz, BriAnn Metz, Trey Metz, and Colton Caudill; brother-and sister-in- law, Ernie and Gail Mills; brother-in-law, Teddy Gerrey; cousins, Evan Burton and Bill Burton; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Hopewell Moravian Church Graveyard, 701 Hopewell Church Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
