Pamela Louise Hill Swain, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center on Sunday, May 18, 2025. She was born in Danville, Virginia, on April 3, 1955, to the late Robert Hill and Hazel Aaron Hill. Pamela was a compassionate and caring woman; she never met a stranger. She was charitable, making countless donations and efforts to causes such as St. Jude’s, Wounded Warrior Project, and Samaritan’s Purse, in addition to helping individuals in need, whether that be someone she just met, or someone she knew for years. For 20 years, Pamela was a successful residential real estate investor and was passionate about her profession. She found joy in remodeling, decorating, and landscaping the homes she was working on. She adored spending time outdoors, and her favorite place was at her beach house, particularly when she was able to watch dolphins in the water, and occupying afternoons working in the yard, constantly adjusting the plants to her liking. She had several bird feeders and loved to spend time with her beloved fur baby, Mittens. Pamela was committed to her relationship with the Lord, she worshipped and dedicated herself to Him. Most of all, Pamela had an immense love for her family. She adored her grandson, Max, and family always came first. A lasting memory of Pamela’s love for the holidays will be left with her family in the form of her extravagant decorating. She will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved her.
Pamela is survived by her loving husband, William Stewart Swain Sr.; her son, Stewart Swain Jr. (Carrie), and their child, Maxwell Swain; her younger son, Chase Swain; a sister, Teresa Mahan (James); special friend, Carol Toney; as well as her fur baby, Mittens.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Charlie Ryan officiating.
