Panagiotis "Pete" Vasilios Sklapanis

Mr. Panagiotis “Pete” Vasilios Sklapanis, 84, fell asleep in the Lord Monday, September 21, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 4, 1941, in Epiniana, Evrytanias, Greece, the son of Vasilios and Maria Avram Sklapanis. A faithful member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox, where he participated in the Greek Festival every year. Pete was married in 1968 and moved to the United States with his wife in 1969 to start a new life. He was the former owner of two restaurants, the Four Seasons and Cagney’s. A Dallas Cowboys fan, he enjoyed cars and was devoted to his family. Pete was a great provider and protector of his loved ones who adored him. He had a profound sense of humor and enjoyed his McDonalds coffee group. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Mitsios, Taxaharis, Eleni and Thomas and a brothers-in-law, Aristidis Gatsis and Spiro Nixon (Katina). Survivors include his wife, Anthoula Nikopoulos Sklapanis; his three daughters, Maria Labrakis of Kannapolis, Eleni Pappas (Pete) of Charlotte and Politimi Fotinos (Michael) of Iron Station; his siblings, Asemina, Gregory, Kosta, Christo and Lambrini; his grandchildren, Vasilios Labrakis (Bria), Anthoula Pappas, Melina Pappas, Nicholas Fotinos, Kalliopi Fotinos, Panagiotis Fotinos and Tatiana Fotinos; his sister-in-law, Maria Gatsis and daughter, Panagiota and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service and trisagion will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Menas Tsambounieris and Rev. Fr. Nicoloas Spirakis officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27104
