Patricia Cooper Chappell

Mrs. Patricia Cooper Chappell, 97, of Winston-Salem, passed away on December 19, 2016 at Trinity Elms. She was born on July 7, 1919 in Wake County to James Arthur and Luna Phillips Cooper. She was a member of Ardmore Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the Eastern Star. Patricia retired from The United Cerebral Palsy Foundation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William E. Chappell; three brothers, John, Joe and Robert and one sister, Isabel. Patricia is survived by one son, Ralph E. Chappell of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Brenda C. Bermelin of Raeford and Karen Chappell of Mocksville; two grandchildren, Bridgette Hayes and Thomas Lawlor; two great grandchildren, Joel Parnell and Jason Hayes. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A private graveside service will be held at Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
