Patricia Coone

Mrs. Patricia McKnight Coone, 83, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019.  She was born February 8, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late Grace Putnam McKnight.  Pat was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church where she served in many capacities as a GA Leader and a nursery worker in later years.  She was known as a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Pat was a homemaker for many years before going to work for the Better Business Bureau.  From there she held positions at R.J. Reynolds and also Douglas Battery.  In addition to her mother, Mrs. Coone is preceded in death by her husband, and the love of her life, Charles Edward Coone.  She is survived by two sons, B.E. Coone (Cindy) of Asheville and Chuck Coone (Sandra) of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren: Sabrina Godfrey (Kenny), Meredith Lamm (Chris), and Zachary Coone (Jessica); eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Marvin T. Coone Jr. (Bobbie); sister-in-law, Pam Coone; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; plus, Ruby Webster, a very close family friend, especially to Pat.  A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, February 17 at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Brian Alverson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, February 16 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Senior Services of Winston-Salem, 2895 Shorefair Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 or a charity of choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
