Patricia “Ann” Kirby Cranford, 85, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born August 13, 1940, in Ware Shoals, SC, to the late Harmon Humpfrey Kirby and Sara Long Kirby.
Ann was a longtime member of Ardmore Moravian Church. She was active in the women’s fellowship, on the board of trustees, taught Sunday school, and served in many other capacities throughout her membership.
She was also an enrolled agent with the IRS for many years. In her free time, Ann enjoyed playing bridge as a member of the Ardmore Bridge Club for over 45 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, James Kirby (Gina) Cranford of Boonville, NC, John Harmon (Kim) Cranford of Arcadia, NC, and Janie Cranford (Steve) Martin of Winston-Salem, NC; three granddaughters, Ashley Cranford Waldrop (John David), Asher Cranford (Chris) Eaton, and Ivey-Ann Cranford Martin; one grandson, Ryan Messer; one great granddaughter, Eva Cranford Waldrop; brother-in-law, John Leonard (Peggy) Cranford of Winston-Salem, NC; five nieces; one nephew; along with many friends who she loved dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Ardmore Moravian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. A private family graveside service will be held at Salem Moravian Graveyard.
The family would like to thank Ann’s special caregiver, Carolyn Williams, and all the staff at Forsyth Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ardmore Moravian Church, 2013 W Academy Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or to Salem Moravian Graveyard, 501 S Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
