Patricia Murphy Gould

Mrs. Patricia Murphy Gould, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on May 13, 1931 in to the late Harold Stephen Murphy and Ruby Jane Hill Murphy. Mrs. Gould was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, beloved sister and friend, who will be missed greatly by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Ellen Gould and a brother, Gilbert Eugene Murphy. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Leonard Mann Gould; a daughter, Patricia Harrold (Tim) of Lexington; two sons, James L. Gould (Melinda) of Durham, ME and Michael Travis Gould of King; three grandchildren, Kevin Veach (Meredith Cortesis), Mary Ella Hanson (Jon) and Sarah Minnich (Josh); four great-grandchildren, Ella, Samuel, Obadiah and Gideon; two sisters, Mary Ellen Bridges of Madison, AL and Jane Scobey (Bill) of Franklin, TN; one brother, Jim Murphy (Karen) of Chattanooga, TN and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church in King with Rev. Kevin Broyhill officiating. A private committal service will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 536 S. Main St., King, NC 27021. The family would like to thank Mary Ellen Bridges for all of the love and care shown to her sister during her time of need.
