Patricia Carol Holleman Hardister

Mrs. Patricia Carol Holleman Hardister, age 77 of Advance, North Carolina, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Patricia, known as Pat by most, was born July 20, 1948 in Forsyth County to the late Carl Otis Holleman and Sallie Sue Sheets Holleman. She was a graduate of West Forsyth High School where she was on the dance and softball team. She went on to continue her education at Brevard Junior College. Pat married Sam Gray Hardister, III on January 4, 1969. Pat attended UNC-Greensboro completing her education degree, while working at Baptist Hospital as a Secretary. Sammy and Pat went on to have two daughters, Jennifer and Amy Hardister.

Pat was a dedicated teacher in Davie County Schools where she worked at Shady Grove Elementary and North Davie Middle School, where colleagues became more like family. Mrs. Hardister loved her students dearly and continued that love beyond the classroom. She happily encountered former students after retiring, lighting up with a smile. After 34 years in the school system, she retired to be a full-time caregiver of her husband Sammy until his passing. Though Pat’s health declined in the last year of life, she found joy and love from her care team at Bermuda Commons, alongside the support of family and loved ones.

Her family lovingly called her “Momma” and MawMaw”. Family was everything to her. She adored her daughters Jennifer and Amy, and her grandchildren Phillip and Hannah. She was always present, loved them dearly, and encouraged them in all their aspirations.

In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Gray Hardister, III; and her son-in-law Jeremy Angel.

Pat is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Angel of Franklin, NC and Amy Hardister of Advance, NC; two grandchildren, Phillip Angel and Hannah Angel (Fiancé Tony Rossi); best friends, Patsy and Larry Lanier; godchildren, Chad Lanier and Greg Lanier; and many distant relatives and friends who were like family.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Rev. Francis Smith. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, North Carolina.
