Patricia "Patty" Group DeTrude

Mrs. Patricia “Patty” Ann DeTrude, 84, passed away peacefully at her home on June 1, 2026. She was born on July 24, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Edward Group and Pauline Yost Group.

Patty dedicated 21 years of service to State Farm Insurance before retiring in 1999. She took great pride in her work and carried that same care and devotion into her home and family life. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and needlepoint, and she had a special gift for decorating. Patty’s home was always neat, welcoming, and filled with warmth, a reflection of her heart.

Above all, Patty cherished her family. Time spent with her beloved husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson brought her the greatest joy. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother. Her steady faith and deep love for the Blessed Mother were central to her life and a source of strength and comfort.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey DeTrude, and her brother, Edward “Bud” Group.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, Dr. James “Jim” DeTrude; her son, James “Jim” Edward DeTrude (Courtney); her daughter, Jill Geyer (Ron); six grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, Kayla, Jillian, Brenna, and Bennett; her great-grandson, Henry; and her three brothers, Gary Group (Sandra), John Group (Joanne), and Daniel Group (Lesley).

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Live Long Well Care and Trellis Supportive Care for the compassion and support shown to Patty and her loved ones during this time.

Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family.
