Patricia Ann Waggoner Mayes

Patricia Ann Waggoner Mayes, of Winston Salem, NC passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at her home due to Respiratory complications.

She was born in Alameda County Naval Air Station, Oakland, CA on October 24, 1955, to William Charles and Mary Ann Waggoner.

Patricia graduated from C.W. Baker High School, Baldwinsville, NY in 1974, where she participated in both Gymnastics and Cheerleading. Patricia then attended Cayuga County Community College obtaining an Associate Degree.

Patricia's life then took her to Burlington, VT where she started a family and began raising her two children, Justin and Jennifer Walker. She lastly settled down in the Winston Salem area where she started a career with BB&T Bank, working as an Administrative Assistant for 14 years.

Patricia was an extreme animal lover, especially dogs, she raised, bred and cared for dogs throughout her entire life. They were always more than "pets" to her, they were part of her family. In addition to her love for animals, she loved her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She was always the helping hand, back bone for family and friends, and she was strong willed. All who knew her loved that about her.

Patricia is survived by her Mother, Mary Ann Waggoner, her son Justin Walker, wife Holly, granddaughters Jessica and Noelle, her daughter Jennifer Johnson, husband Zachary, grandsons Alex and Nicholas, her brothers Michael Waggoner (Rosemary), Gary Waggoner (Cindy), Timothy Waggoner (Maria), and sister Mary Beth Glynn (Patrick).

The service will be held at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 from 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. on November 9, 2019.
